International Women’s Friendship Month Tips

Created by Kappa Delta Sorority, International Women’s Friendship Month encourages women to remember the important roles friends play in their lives.

I am blessed to be a part of Kappa Delta Sorority for many reasons. However, I want to talk about International Women’s Friendship Month (IWFM) for a minute. IWFM is in September and is a special time to celebrate our female friendships. The best part? You don’t have to be a Kappa Delta to celebrate your female friends. On campuses all across the country, KD’s are confidence and women’s friendship through their different events. Not only is it a time that brings KD sisters together, it allows us to spread confidence to other women. (Confidence is Kappa Delta’s platform). So how can you celebrate IWFM before September is over?

Well for one, women’s friendship shouldn’t just be celebrated one month out of the year, as you can do any of these simple activities at any time! Here are some quick ideas to bond with your sister friends:

  • Write them a letter
  • Make/Buy them a cute gift that represents your friendship
  • Talk over coffee
  • Watch a movie together
  • Go on a mini road trip
  • Do a craft together
  • Give them a call/text
  • Ask them how they’re doing
  • Go shopping together
  • Go out to dinner
  • Post something sweet on social media about them
  • Rescue them from class when it’s pouring rain

These are just a few ways to get you started. Kappa Delta shared a great post about maintaining friendship from afar. It’s all about how to be intentional in how you keep up with friends. It’s a great read regardless of you Greek affiliation or not. We don’t have to be Greek to be nice to each other.

How do you celebrate female friendship? Let me know below, friends!
