Hello beautiful people!
Here is much hope that your Monday isn’t a ~Monday~.
Like many of us, my skin gets mega dry and gross during the Winter. Until this last month, I haven’t really tried to do very much about it other than your typical daily moisturizer.
It wasn’t until I stumbled upon Sephora’s website where I was eligible for 3% cashback from Ebates AND they were giving out double points for Beauty Insiders on all their skin care products (pssst, today is the last day to get that deal 1/22)! As it’s my birthday month I was also able to get a birthday gift. After reviewing a few websites for additional Sephora deals, I found that in addition to my 2x skin care points, birthday gift, and the normal three samples they throw in there, that if I spent $25 I could also get a hydration sample pack. GUYS, IT. WAS AMAZING. I spent about $50 and was able to get so many samples and products for that price and 90% of them can be used multiple times. A normal one use facemask at Walmart/Target costs about $2.50. In the end, this was a much cheaper deal.
So here’s what I got!
Sephora Favorites Haute Hydrators
A $103 value, for $38 I purchased the Sephora Favorites Haute Hydrators. It comes with nine individual items and everything I’ve tried so far is pretty amazing. I have yet to find something that I couldn’t benefit from.
As per Sephora’s website here’s what’s included:
– 0.33 oz/10 mL belif The True Cream Aqua Bomb
– 0.16 oz/5 mL Caudalie Resveratrol Lift Eye Lifting Balm
– 0.34 oz/10 mL Dr. Jart+ Water Fuse Ultimate Hydro Gel
– 0.27 oz/8 mL Drunk Elephant B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Gel
– 0.34 oz/10 mL Kora Organics Noni Glow Face Oil
– 0.1 oz/3 g Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask
– 0.25 oz/7.5 mL Peter Thomas Roth Hungarian Thermal Water Mineral-Rich Moisturizer
– 0.34 oz/10 mL REN Evercalm™ Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask
– 0.78 oz/22 g Sephora Collection Face Mask in Lotus
Thus far, my absolute favorite items are belif The True Cream Aqua Bomb (it has a light moisturizing feel, but puts in some serious work), Dr. Jart+ Water Fuze Ultimate Hydro Gel (honestly, I feel like this and the previous item are relatively similar in texture and effectiveness), Kora Organics Noni Glow Face Oil (as someone who has had a history of oily skin, I really thought I would hate this, but you use the oil first, let it sink in then moisturize and it does wonders for your skin and doesn’t feel greasy), Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask (this is easily my absolute favorite item that I’ll probably end up purchasing forever. Winter = chapped lips. BUT NOT WITH THIS MIRACLE OF A PRODUCT. Forever a favorite. It’s almost like I’m drinking enough water), and Sephora Collection Face Mask in Lotus (Face Masks are pretty amazing, but you can feel your face tingling a bit as a gets into your pores to make your face feel and look pretty). Also a favorite, but spending $6 on a mask that you only use one time does not fit the college budget right now – keep reading for my 10/10 masks.
Sephora Collection Sleeping Mask
These are probably the easiest way to put minimal effort in and get results. The Sephora Collection Sleeping Mask comes in eight different versions all ready to help you fight your skin care battles. I recently purchased three of them, Green Tea, Pomegranate, and Pearl.
Green Tea benefits: Mattifying and Anti-Blemish
Pomegranate benefits: Anti-Fatigue and Energizing
Pearl Benefits: Perfecting and Brightening
Out of these three, I’ve tried Green Tea and Pearl. They’re small, but a little goes a long ways and you can get multiple uses out of these depending on how much you put on. As it is, I’m on day four of my Pearl sleeping mask and there are easily a few more uses in there.
I love them because all you need to do is cleanse, use a face mask if you so choose and then use this as a moisturizer almost. You do need to rinse your face off in the morning. Since it’s a mask still, it doesn’t sink all the way into your skin.
Each is $4.
Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask to Quench Skin’s Thirst
When I purchased this, they had a four pack of their one use pods that I picked up, but they’re no longer available. While I have yet to try the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask to Quench Skin’s Thirst pack that I bought, the quantity of product is .34oz while the Sephora Collection Sleeping mask only has .27oz. Based on how long the Sleeping Mask is lasting me, I already know Origins will last me a bit of time!
This set was $10 for four, whereas one alone is $4.
GlamGlow Supermud Clearing Treatment (BIRTHDAY GIFT OPTION)
Another item I haven’t tried, but the GlamGlow Supermud Clearing Treatment has 4.2/5 stars on Sephora so I’d say its ranked pretty high. The treatment works to give clarity to your skin and works to solve oiliness and pore concerns. I’m pretty pumped to try this, but if this isn’t your thing they have two other birthday gift options, hydrating lip masks from Bite Beauty or hair products from Bumble and Bumble.
In order to get a birthday gift, you need to be a Sephora Beauty Insider which takes practically zero time to set an account up. You also start to rack up some Insider points which you can use to redeem EVEN MORE ITEMS.
Hydration Sample Set
Since I spent over $25, I was able to use that opportunity to redeem a hydration sample set that will keep my face feeling like it’s summer, until it is.
For the most part, these are all different items than the Haute Hydrators pack gave me. The only similarity is the belif The True Cream Aqua Bomb, but it has a different hydration level. This sample pack is no longer available, but I’m sure they’ll have a similar one again soon! I’m pretty pumped to try the Laneige mask (top left), Briogeo deep conditioning mask (next right), and the Bite Beauty lip masks below that (which come in three different shades so you can wear the mask day or night).
Just from this haul, I had 29 different items, which many will last me for multiple uses. If you’re looking for a way to save money in the long run, but get good quality products, this is the way to go!
However, I did purchase some amazing face masks, not from Sephora…
Dermal Korea Collagen Essence Full Face Facial Mask Sheet
I found out about these from a friend and honestly I’m addicted. I’ve been using these Dermal Korea Collagen masks since last semester and just bought the 24 pack from $13 on Amazon. They work wonders and come with so much extra serum that you can either save it or use it as extra moisture on your skin after you’ve finished using the mask.
Each package has three words on it that tell you what benefit you will get from the mask. I think they’re all pretty great so I don’t pay too much attention. There are so ones in the packs that are definitely unique, but the ones shown on Amazon may not be the ones you get. So I didn’t end up getting some of the more interesting ones, which I was fine with, but for .50 cents/mask, you can’t really complain too much!
They have different sized packs and there are other brands that Amazon sells, but I’ve never had a problem with these and they’re relatively cheap, but get the job done!
I’m pretty happy with this Winter skin care pick-me-up and cannot wait to try the items I haven’t been able to yet! If you all have a favorite or have suggestions for other items I should try, please let me know in the comments below!
Have a great week and like me, strive to drink more water to keep your skin healthy and glowing.
